This course consists of 4 x 1-hour recorded lessons from initial image selection to final portfolio.

You will learn how to assess, compliment, edit and ‘tune’ your images to make a cohesive set.

Lesson 1: Initial Selection, demo selection as a group, Edit, Review

We start by choosing our initial very small set of images to work with. We demo them as a set and look for themes which will instruct / guide us in our edits. We then do a review.

Lesson 2: Tuning, Editing & Complimenting the Portfolio

Now we have a ‘core’ set of images we think are defining our portfolio, we go looking for complimentary images to add to the set. This will involve continuous review of the collection of images and colour and tonal editing / fine-tuning to make images sit better together.

Lesson 3: Portfolio Review, Fine-Tuning & Print Evaluation

Once we have completed the portfolio, we will do a further review, and most importantly, print the images for final verification. Printing is essential in getting the last 10% out of our images.

Lesson 4: Finding & Developing your Style

Style is something that comes from developing and working towards cohesive collections of images. And similarly, portfolios are derived from style. Both style and portfolio development are intertwined.
